The Hudson Harmonic started off as a Lutheran Church built in 1869. In 2008, it was sold to sound engineer, Henry Hirsch, and turned into a music recording studio it. In 2013, it was resold to composer, Patrick Higgins, and continued as a private recording studio and residence. In fall of 2020, it was sold to current owner, Chris Lindstrom, and reborn as “The Hudson Harmonic”. It is currently under renovation and will be reopened as a community event space for non-denominational congregation, incorporating dance and music in service to the harmonization of nature, humanity and spirit.
In the same way life is reborn every spring, we are in a time when many people are looking for a rebirth of the essence of religion—a spirituality without dogma, an emergent process of playful exploration of the sacred and the sacredness of the creative process. Through arts, dance, music and sound, we experience divinity working through us. It is our intention to steward this beautiful structure to be the home for a new kind of congregation. Originally built in service to a now dying patriarchal religion , we invite the community of Hudson to co-create a new way to congregate that gives equal credence to the feminine as well as masculine sides of life and ultimately to find balance between these two equally significant aspects of Spirit. Through the conscious reintegration of these principles in our body and mind we can begin to harmonize our selves with nature and nature with spirit. We re-tune ourselves to the epic symphony of Creation and rekindle a sense of awe and gratitude for the miraculous web of life on earth.
